Palin Nightmare

Alright. I've tried to not to get into the election stuff this year because when I really wanted Kerry to win 4 years ago and he did not, I wanted to strangle someone. Fine, 4 more years of Bush. We finally have another chance to change things and I'm pretty sure I'll consider moving to Canada if Obama doesn't win. But what really gets me is Sarah Palin, and her supporters. I have not yet met a Palin supporter, but I'd really like to sit down and have a chat with them. I'm a democrat, and I'll probably always be, but I don't disrespect McCain for being republican, I just disagree with republican views. But I refuse to respect a woman running for Vice President who knows nothing about...well, anything. I think its a disgrace to all women that she's running because she's simply not qualified. Hilary Clinton may be hated by many because of the whole Lewinsky mess, but she's at least qualified for the job.

Palin doesn't know a thing about foreign policy but uses Alaska's proximity to Russia to explain her foreign policy experience. She does not know what the job of the Vice President is. She claims to support research for people with disabilities but thinks fruit fly research is a waste of money. She thinks she is an energy expert because "her" state has oil under the ground. She abused her power in Alaska. She thinks that going to war is a task sent from God and that its God's plan to win (aka, kill the other guy). And, she is a dirty politician, by spreading terrorist rumors about the other candidate. Seriously, is this who Americans want to help run our country? What was McCain thinking?

Do you see any change here:
"But oftentimes I'm asked: Why? Why do you care what happens outside of America?" --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., June 26,2008

"They are also building schools for the Afghan children so that there is hope and opportunity in our neighboring country of Afghanistan." ―Palin, speaking at a fundraiser in San Francisco, Oct. 5, 2008

"Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter." --George W. Bush, in parting words to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and French President Nicolas Sarkozy at his final G-8 Summit, punching the air and grinning widely as the two leaders looked on in shock, Rusutsu, Japan, July 10, 2008

"You know that old Beach Boys song, Bomb Iran? Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran." ―McCain, breaking into song after being asked at a VFW meeting about whether it was time to send a message to Iran, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, April 18, 2007

"There's no question about it. Wall Street got drunk -- that's one of the reasons I asked you to turn off the TV cameras -- it got drunk and now it's got a hangover. The question is how long will it sober up and not try to do all these fancy financial instruments." --George W. Bush, speaking at a private fundraiser, Houston, Texas, July 18, 2008

"That's exactly what we're going to do in a Palin and McCain administration." ―Palin, elevating herself to the top of the ticket, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sept. 18, 2008

Ok. I got that off my chest. Did I mention that Biden and I went to the same University? Ha. :-p

I had a bad feeling four years ago, but I'm feeling good vibes now. It's our turn.

Biden was the speaker at my UD graduation. I have to say (and I think everyone present would agree, seeing as how everybody was booing) it was the worst.speech.ever.

But in general, since the Kerry/Bush race I stopped paying attention to politics. Too irritating/disgruntling for me. It seems to have that same effect on you too. :)

Jeez Johnny, don't hide your feelings so much. Tell us how you really feel.

There was a couple dressed as Palin and McCain at the Halloween party last night--it was great.
